Halifax Opportunities Trust is a regeneration charity based in Halifax (our home) established to improve the lives of people in the town, helping them with employment, skills and business and supporting families.

H.O.T (as it’s come to be known as in the DC office) came to us wanting a fully editable site in which they could publish video footage and photography of the people of Halifax they have assisted and to demonstrate the services offered by the organisation.

We have used Joomla! as the content management system platform.  A common issue with off-the-shelf CMS systems like this is that the sites built upon it can end up looking quite similar and very regimented and boxy.  But Digital Consortium are HTML template integration specialists as well as developers and we’ve managed to make the site look very un-Joomla! with bright asymmetrical shapes to house content and video (streaming from YouTube to keep down hosting costs) to echo the brand and off line materials of the Trust.
