The Creative Calderdale project aims to build a creative industry network across Calderdale to encourage new business start-ups, attract inward investment and improve the competitiveness of local creative and digital businesses.

It wanted a website that would act as a hub for its activity by communicating with members and promoting the exceptional quality of creative work coming out of the region. The ability to update the site in house was essential.

We built upon a Joomla! (open source content management system) but integrated custom designed and built templates.. So instead of looking ‘off-the-shelf’ the site has a distinctive magazine style format. It features news, a totally bespoke ‘Creative Space Locator’ and a business directory. Members can update their business profiles via a members-only area, which also gives them access to a job and project posting facility to encourage collaboration with other Calderdale creatives.
