Since Guy, Rich and Laura all bought iPhones, the Digital Consortium office has become the place to go with any iPhone questions. With such experts sitting right here it only made sense that we would make the leap to designing our own apps.

Our first iPhone web app, iRacecourse, is now on Apple’s official website. It has been developed for our client Racecourse Hospitality who specialises in corporate hospitality packages for racecourses throughout the UK.

Mark Lloyd, our technical director, said: “We were pleased to see it on Apple.

“It directly links to your own site too so the visiting statistics for Racecourse Hospitality went up quite a bit.”

Website visitor numbers went up by 622 per cent after it was featured on Apple. The iPhone gives users a view of any UK racing fixture by date, venue or both and also allows them to access Racecourse Hospitality’s website packages and to e-mail or call the company.

Mark said it was the ideal next step for Racecourse Hospitality to transfer its website to the phone.

“Our client loved it when he saw it and we are now looking to do more,” he said. “This was definitely a good first project.”

Mark said it was clear companies were seeing the benefits of choosing digital media for their marketing over printing methods in the downturn.
